Not an early adopter, I didn't much care for early "old school" such as Rapper's Delight or even early Run DMC. I guess it began with 'crossover' artists such as Tone Loc who instead of the usual mishmash of scratching and sampling had hot guitar licks (e.g. Wild Thing and Funky Cold Medina). |
